Abstract
A closed-form solution for the natural frequency and mode shape of inhomogeneous beams was presented. The beam was equipped with an elastic rotational spring support at one end while the other end was pinned. The compatibility of order in the polynomial expressions was introduced in the nondimensional elastic constant. A graph representing the variation of stiffness for constant material density was plotted.
