Abstract

Closed form solutions the buckling eigenvalue problem of columns with variable flexural rigidity along the axis were obtained. The column was either under uniformly distributed axial load or under concentrated compressive load. The columns with guided end and other end clamped or pinned were used for the analysis. The buckling was required to be positive in order to correspond to the applied compression.
