Abstract
The prevalence of concussions and other traumatic head injuries have been proven to be significantly higher in American Football compared to sports with similar levels of physicality such as Rugby. A meta-analysis will be performed comparing the two sports to determine possible indicators or reasons of concussions in American Football. Three key differences that will be evaluated are the safety measures and rules of the games, the level of equipment, and the amount and types of preparation or training involved. Lastly, the long-term effects of traumatic head injuries in our current society will be investigated.
