Abstract

The present paper deals with vibration of thin, isotropic, rectangular plates stiffened along two parallel edges and simply supported along the other two. An exact solution is obtained by reformulating the initial eigenfrequency problem as one of determining the wave-number codirectionally with simply-supported edges, with three different forms of eigenfrequency wave-number relationships. Examples are worked out, indicating the effect of stiffener parameters. © 1980 Springer-Verlag.
