Abstract

This paper reviews recent developments in vibratory imperfection sensitivity of structures. Since the classic dissertation by Koiter in 1945 numerous studies have been devoted to the influence of initial imperfections on the buckling load of structures, whose load-carrying capacity is often reduced by decades of percentages. These studies were extended to vibration problems.
