Abstract
A study was carried out to solve an inverse vibration problem. As a first step, the vibration mode was postulated. Following this, the variation of the stiffness that leads to the postulated vibration mode was established. The resulting solution is superior in the sense that both the closed-form expression for the displacement, and the natural frequency were derived.
