Abstract
This study derives some closed-form analytic as well as numeric solutions for the axially graded elasticallyconstrained bar with polynomial varying modulus of elasticity, along the axial coordinate. The solutions allow for vibration tailoring in such a manner that the bar possesses the pre-selected natural frequency. © 2009 The Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and Springer-Verlag GmbH.
