Abstract
In this work, the nodal integrated plate element (NIPE) formulation is presented for the analysis of functionally graded plates based on the first-order shear deformation theory. The NIPE appears suitable to describe the static behavior of functionally graded plates with a power law distribution of the mechanical properties. Results show the accuracy of the present formulation comparing the results with those available in literature. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd.
