Abstract

Recent advances in brain imaging techniques allow unprecedented access to the behavior of individual neurons. At Florida Atlantic University, the Duboue group uses two-photon microscopy to monitor the activity of thousands of individual Zebrafish neurons before, during, and after an electric shock is administered as a way to study the fish’s response to stress. This work aims to develop computational tools for handling and interpreting such data. We have used clustering algorithms to identify classes of neurons that exhibit similar activity patterns and identify predictors of neuronal classes.
