The Design the Footnote contest is a student-centered initiative hosted through the Florida Atlantic University Libraries. Students in the School of Architecture at the downtown Fort Lauderdale campus were invited to transform citations, bibliographies, and scholarly research into visual design works that would merge research, typography, and creative ideas. The initiative was designed to encourage information literacy through art and design, while also providing students with professional development opportunities. These opportunities included university recognition, the creation of portfolio-building works, resume credit, exhibition experience, and public visibility through the Florida Atlantic University Libraries.
